This Memorial Exhibition was put on by the Society of Illustrators to "honor the heroism and humanity demonstrated in the wake of the catastrophic events of 9/11/01, by the victims and families, and those who now risk their lives daily and our courage as a nation to perservere." Exhibit fees and proceeds from a subsequent book of the exhibit will go to charities providing financial aid to families of victims of the World Trade Center attack.

The new illustration, titled "American Pride Quilt," is a 21" x 26" stitched fabric quilt comprised of images of homes, apartments, and businesses displaying the American flag photographed around the City of Seattle, Washington in October, 2001. The quilt itself, and artist-stitched duplicates, are available for sale after the close of the exhibit. The quilt image is also available in digital format for editorial useage.
