PROFILE
Lisa Shaftel was born, raised, and studied in the New York City metropolitan area. Lisa moved to Seattle, Washington in 1991, where she lived for 12 years before returning to the Northeast, and now resides in New England. Lisa has worked professionally for 28 years in the entertainment industry as a Scenic Designer, Scenic Artist, Puppet Designer/builder, and storyboard artist. She has a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Scenic Design & Lighting Design, and a Masters of Fine Arts in Scenic Painting. Over the years, Lisa has worked on Broadway shows, regional theatre, professional ballet, in television, film, video, exhibits & displays, and architectural installations throughout the United States and abroad. She is a member of United Scenic Artists local 829, I.A.T.S.E. local 481, and the Graphic Artists Guild.
These "Illustrated Photographs," as Lisa calls them, are her own original images inspired by photographs taken as research for her scenic work.
